Certificate Program: Our Cosmetology program is an intensive one-year course, with graduates receiving a certificate upon completion.
Professional License Required: To practice Cosmetology in Michigan or be employed in the field, students must pass the Cosmetologist Licensure Exam and apply for a license to the State of Michigan.

Note: Students at Creative Hair School of Cosmetology, regardless of program of study, are ineligible for VA educational benefits or Michigan Student Aid funds (including TIP). To receive a Cosmetology license, you must meet the following requirements:
be at least 17 years of age;
be of good moral character;
have an education equivalent to the completion of the ninth grade; and
have successfully completed a course of study of at least 1,500 hours;
pass the State Board examinations;
and apply for a license online at the MyLicense website www.michigan.gov/miplus, submit the required fee to the State of Michigan.
